Sarantos has done it again…as he always does on each and every release. 33% of any music-related sales profits from his latest single, “Believe” are going straight to charity. In this particular case the choice has fallen on the Hellenic Academy.
Sarantos, who was nominated for 2 awards for the 2014 International Music & Entertainment Awards in the categories “Rock Song of the Year” and “Pop Album of the Year”, had this to say, of his new single and video release – “Believe”.
“This is an intense soft rock song about a man who believes in his significant other, so very much. No matter what is in the past, he refuses to give up on her. In spite of all the darkest hours, a simple smile sets him free and he continues to believe and only asks for the same in return.”
Sarantos comes up with a winner here. “Believe” had me hooked from the start. It is smoky. It is emotional. It dares you to understand and look full in the face the love between adults. There is no teenage love angst here. This is a song that you and your wife can listen to.
There are years of a relationship in between the lyrical lines. It’s honest. At times in every relationship one partner wants more than the other. Sometimes one partner has to work a lot harder to get the attention of the other. Making an effort to keep believing is important in any relationship. Even when the other has drifted into darker areas of his or her life, making you fade a little into the background.
Sarantos perfectly captures that, having a real understanding of desire and faith over both long term and immediate short term. Open a bottle of wine, get a fire going, turn the lights down low or sit under the stars, get your significant other, cue this music and get lucky!
“Believe” is deep and has powerful lyrics and layered vocals to back up a majestic musical arrangement, which harkens back to the early Pink Floyd sound. It is by far one of Sarantos’ best works.
The songwriting reveals a new level of sensitivity and depth of feeling, delivered beautifully and straight from the heart; a perfect combination for a love song!
