Sam Capolongo is a solo artist who plays a variety of musical instruments. Sam has been composing and recording since age 12. He likes to portray life stories and messages in his lyrics. The twelve songs on his first CD “Never The Simple Things” were recorded at the age of sixteen. The title track on his EP “This is Heaven” was written to help increase cancer awareness, with proceeds from the EP going to Stand Up To Cancer. His most recent album “All That We Live For” delivers a portrayal of the daily struggles and lessons learned throughout the life of a high school teenager. The track “Forever Here” was co-written with friend Logan Davis and inspired by their days at Montgomery High School, NJ. Sam is an engineering student at University of Delaware.
“All That We Live For” rocks as Sam successfully experiments with several types of musical arrangements and themes about general inner searching on this album. The experiment succeeds and leaves you with a collection of catchy songs that you’ll want to listen to over and over again! When I first heard it I was extremely impressed with how well the album held my attention and how strong Sam’s voice was.
This album is really incredible, largely due to Sam smashing genre rules, and simply writing and playing good music. Key tracks are definitely “Naked Rain”, “Reveal Your Name”, “Broken”, “Our Buildings”, “Another Day Away”, “So Far” and “All That We Live For”, but this album features several songs that could be radio hits.
Across the 13 tracks that make up “All That We Live For”, Sam Capolongo dances on the fine line of creativity and exhilaration, with an unbelievable array of artistic expression. This album is for those who like to listen to music and not just have background noise.
Sam has created a wonderful collection of songs that showcase his talents as a songwriter and a performing artist. The work displayed here tells me he is going to be around for quite some time. This emotional package paints broad strokes of passion and introspection across a canvas of musical change. No one can question he has poured himself into all of these songs. What we hear is truly Sam’s reality. He sings as if he means every word and what results is raw energy and pure appeal.
If you haven’t discovered him yet Sam Capolongo is an amazing musician and the songs on “All That We Live For” are very mature and well produced. It has a lot of depth compared to you average pop singer and the song, “Our Buildings” is worth the money alone. This album is not only deeply meaningful, but musically entertaining.
