Passport Louis is a trendsetter and go-getter pursuing success with a ferocity that is rarely seen, even in the highly competitive music industry. Passport Louis, who was born and raised in the steely and industrial city of Peoria, Ill., talks about his experiences from a global perspective while still finding the delicate balance of maintaining his musical roots.
“I have no interest in being a run-of-the mill rap artist,” Passport explains. “I feel that my music, and my artistic vision, will explain where I come from. I feel that music is a universal language, and I try to explain the way I see the world through my eyes so that everyone will easily understand it.”
Passport Louis takes pride in his ability to make and produce several unique beats using a combination of sample beats and instrumentals. From writing music about the fast paced Hollywood lifestyles, to rapping about serious subjects about love and loss, there isn’t a subject that Passport Louis is afraid to tackle. His Biorhythm album is highly autobiographical and revealing of the mysterious life and times of Passport Louis.
The fact that Passport Louis sounds like no one else in the rap game is a definite advantage. Also, it’s refreshing that he’s not rapping about his cars or his jewelry. Passport Louis is a rapper with a good sense of humor, which is a very unique combination. He doesn’t try to be a gangsta or a pimp, he just does his own thing, and the result is a great single.
The production on “Bobby” is outstanding. If you like Eminem and 50 Cent then you should love Passport Louis, because he’s kind of a cross between the two. He has a unique voice and a great ability to tell stories. He makes you feel what he wants you to feel, be it anger, laughter, or whatever.

“Bobby” has an awesome beat which seems to have been made specifically so that Passport Louis could tear it up. And that is exactly what he does! Passport Louis is better than I thought he would be. He is one of the better lyricists that I have heard in a while. He is like Eminem, but from the hood. He is an outstanding rapper who instead of just spitting out some rhymes and raking in the cash, delivers some really sweet lyrics.
I particularly thrive on lyric. Social driven rap like The Roots, Talib Kweli and Mos Def, but I also have no problem throwing some head nodding rhythms in the deck. That said, this single completely blows me away and it seriously will pain me if Passport Louis is slept on.
Passport Louis’ flow is new and fresh. He puts down some tight rhymes which he rips over a very original beat production. So for anybody out there wondering whether or not “Bobby” is worth it, the answer is, definitely. Pick this one up and I guarantee you that you won’t be disappointed.
