Noel DeLisle may be new to the country music scene, but he is no stranger to the studio and stage. With musical roots originating in formal classical music study in both voice and piano, Noel honed his techniques through practice and performances through the collegiate level. Mentored by professors from The Julliard School, Vanderbilt University, University of Tennessee, Westminster Choir College and Concordia Choir College, Noel began expanding his talents to include musical composition.
Noel DeLisle ventured into alternative and hard rock, and opened for mainstream acts including: Linkin Park, Saliva, Drowning Pool, Halestorm, 12 Stones, Hollywood Undead and others.
After suggestions from many fans regarding Noel’s original songs, he made the transition to becoming a country artist. Utilizing the technology that his rock band had used to perform live with pre-recorded loops and sounds, Noel was able to bring to the stage as a solo artist a sound only replicated by a full band.
Noel DeLisle shows on his latest single, “Hey You, Carolina”, that he is quite at home writing country music that rocks, and his music is the epitome of what every country singer should strive for: great songs, good musicianship, and great lyrics that make you want to sing, dance, have fun, or lament over a broken heart.

DeLisle is obviously not shy about breaking the boundaries of country music. As he comes from a rock arena anyway, he doesn’t mind a few odd eclectic instruments. This release however shifts him into a whole new gear. “Hey You, Carolina” is fun, rocking, and very personal. Though I must admit, I didn’t know what I was expecting with this single, I was apprehensive in light of the news that he had played openers for Linkin Park and Halestorm.
Just how was he going to make the switch to Country, and really change the style he and his fans were used to? Well, I can’t say he was wrong. From this melodious, down-tuned, but still rocking single, DeLisle shows us that he can be a rock-star and a pure, down home Country boy at the same time. There are flashes of Kid Rock and Kenny Chesney, along with influences of Hank Jr. and Lee Brice. DeLisle’s sound is a perfect mix of strumming guitars, melodic vocals, and bar-room burners.
DeLisle gives us new lines and licks, and a crucially important atmosphere in his music. You get the feeling he is comfortable with his changeover, knowing what it is and exactly where it is going to. Listen to the arrangements and the balance, the quality writing and playing, and then his voice which fits the genre perfectly. I even checked out his cover versions of some country classics. It’s all great stuff.
Noel DeLisle is the new country kid on the block, who can mix good country with great rock and roll rhythms. He is currently finalizing preparations for the release of his debut country album, “Love & Loss” which is slated for release this year. Let’s see what this unique combination brings!
