DantE Lattanzi is the CEO & Founder of Caelum Entertainment. He is a composer, music producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Dante’s experience covers the range from Films, TV shows, commercials, and music production where he works in a variety of modern music genres. He counts HBO, MTV, Bad Boy Records, Alligator Records, The Naked Cowboy, Shemekia Copeland, The Woods Brothers, Dr. John and a host of other talented artist among his regular clientele.
Born in Queens, New York, Dante Lattanzi grew up speaking a trio of languages: Spanish, Italian and English. From his mother, a Peruvian flamenco gypsy vocalist, lyricist and poet, and his father, a Roman-born jazz drummer, he was immersed in diverse music and cultures. At age 15, his family relocated to California where Dante cut his teeth playing in fledgling bands. After a move back to New York, he returned to the West Coast on his own and began concentrating on songwriting, arranging and collaborating with artists.
Behind the board for the label American Empire Records, Dante Lattanzi extended his experiences in all aspects of recording, from budgets to content. Back in New York, he continued to build a reputation as a staff producer, composer and engineer with Jambox Recording Studio where he added sound design, mastering and vinyl restoration credits, to his résumé of indie film video and game projects, in addition to recording signed and unsigned bands and artists.
Dante has just finished co-writing and producing a new single titled “Without You” for NBC’s The Voice Top16 Finalist, Cáthia. The two are also busy completing work on Cáthia’s debut 5-song EP which will be released in late August, and a full album, set for release later this year. They will also be releasing a Spanish rendition of her latest single “Without you” to be titled “Sin tu amor” which will also be included on the EP.

Known as the “little girl with a big voice” Cáthia, a singer-songwriter and musician, is a graduate from LaGuardia Performing Arts HS. She has performed around NYC, including Carnegie Hall, and the renowned Apollo Theater where she placed first in three rounds of the Amateur Night Competition. Cáthia has won many music awards and scholarships, including a Young Arts Award for Vocal Performance. Her latest accomplishment was making it into the finals on NBC’s The Voice.
So this seems like a natural musical match made in heaven. The technical and creative composing skills of Dante Lattanzi is spread out like an inviting canvas and gently embracing frame, whereupon Cathia’s vocal performance skills, paints it’s magnificent aural images. “Without You” is tight, hip and simple. A fine example of catchy crossover pop, without the ‘overdone’ frills you would come to expect of a The Voice finalist.
Thanks to these two intelligent and talented artists, we are saved from the usual over-indulgent, mega-galactic production meant to showcase ‘the voice’ of the artist and the ‘hand’ of the producer. What Dante and Cáthia do, on “Without You”, is simply showcase the song. And in so doing it becomes highly impossible not to recognize the extensive ‘voice’ of the singer and the sapient ‘hand’ of the song’s co-writer and producer.
I was not familiar with Dante Lattanzi, at least not by name, before this review, so I checked out his catalog of work examples, audible in snippets on his website. And he certainly does a good job in making fascinating, intriguing, soul-shattering music, across a variety of genres.
I already have my ears pre-tuned and ready for the upcoming Ep and Album release, by singing sensation Cáthia and this up and coming musical craftsman, who goes by the name of DantE Lattanzi, CEO and Founder of Caelum Entertainment.
In the meantime feast your ears on their collaboration with the single, “Without You”!
