MR KITO has now launched his 7th album “Where Are The Lizards?” on the “Presence Records” label.
I recently came into MR KITO “Where Are The Lizards?” as a casual listener. I went into it with no real expectations as I just had no idea what to expect: would it be electronic pop, singer-songwriter fare, or simply power-pop? It turns out that this single, and album of the same name is a great effort and there are moments when MR KITO hits dazzling heights with his music.
MR KITO aka Eric Michot seems to have plenty of things to say here and never lacks any emotion, which is the focal point of his music. His range of approach to songs is wonderful, like each one is a new gift to open. The album contains songs which connect and are interwoven with each other. The lyrics and music inherit poignant, sweet and melancholy tones from this talented musician. In an age of flashy trends and songs of the moment, it is truly a treat to listen to this.
Indie rock or Indie pop, whatever the classification, MR KITO’s music makes for enchanting tunes. If you’re looking for a hard rocking road album this is not the one, but if you’re looking for a contemplation of the inner working of MR KITO ‘s mind – then both the single and album, “Where Are The Lizards?” is for you.
