Lily Lambert set to premier the video of “Miss You”!
After graduating Law School with Honors, Lily Lambert, part-Irish, part-Welsh songstress, followed her heart to New York City to pursue her dream of music. While keeping up with the hectic pace of the city and performing in a myriad of NY musicals and Off-Broadway productions, Lily penned her own music backstage, in rehearsals and in audition waiting rooms.
Her debut, Life of Lily, shone with a palate cleansing optimism, making for an ideal mood enhancer on those less than spectacular days and has gained her a nomination for Best Folk Artist, Album and Song of 2014 by The IMEA Awards.
Craving some female empowerment? Look no further than Lily Lambert’s sophomore album, So Far, which sees Lily departing from the piano pop of her debut to pursue a fuller sound that borders on Folk Rock and Country.
Lily Lambert, with her stunning voice and sharply written tunes to match, has come out with a complete album that leaves little doubt that she deserves enough radio play for not only her content but also her voice.
What makes, So Far such a strong album is that Lily is clearly going for a more mainstream sound but without sacrificing her deeply emotional and caring attitude. The tender and searching “Miss You” is a perfect example. Lily is not afraid to let the lyrics in her songs drive you instead of selling herself. She goes for content and strong melody.
Also, there seems to be more to mine in these songs than what’s usually given to us on Radio, deeper lyrics, more introspective. Her voice has grown in range and it shows, stunningly in “Fly”. It rides under the melody and guitar beautifully, and the harmony is just as seductive.
And even though Lily seems to have amassed her strong points into wondrous melancholy and deliciously gentle timbres; she also knows how to rip a song apart, tearing into “Lead Me To You” with pure power and doing it again with “Birds Of Feather.”
Lily Lambert has talent to spare and a vocal purity that needs to be appreciated on a much larger scale. Starting with the opening track, “Pop Culture (Who Cares),” Lily delivers ten consecutive killer songs that paint a portrait of a fully dimensional woman willing to expose her talent and true self to the world. And the results are brilliant.
