King Camil has dropped another video from his 20-track mixtape titled #Midwestcoast The #Midtape. The video supporting the song taken from the #Midtape is actually a double-treat two-song video, called #MoreThenThis & #NoBeatNoHook2.
#MoreThenThis features soulful old school music fused with King Camil’s hard deliveries, and clever wordplay. #NoBeatNoHook2 is a short freestyle that sees the King plying his trade in the rough and ready.
#Midwestcoast The #Midtape is truly one of the best mixtapes to grace my desk this year. It is so hardcore, yet so melodic and smooth at the same time with heart-felt, deeply thought lyrics across the whole album. There is no way that you will pick up this project by King Camil and not enjoy it!!
The production is tight, with top rated beat selection that is hard to beat, yet never does it protrude so as to eclipse the lyrics. I will also add that the swampy and smoking track, “Catfish Blues” is one of the most original rap tunes I’ve heard in a long, long while.
Place Your Banner Here!
There’s something for everybody on this mixtape, and also a lot of interesting experimentation as well, which is really what rap and hiphop needs right now.
King Camil has certainly stepped his level up since the release of his previous album. He can go from a fast-paced gangsta flow to a smoothed-out harmonic flow with ease, and always has been able to do that. But now he has added some of the most diverse and amazing beats, to complete his artistic metamorphosis. And it all works in his favor, big time!
Not too many great rap albums or mixtapes have come out over the year, most are too commercial or the beats are all the same and really boring to listen to on each and every mixtape that arrives on my desk. I can truly say that if you want something creative with a variety of beats and great rapping, download King Camil – “#MidWestCoast The #Midtape “ for FREE, and listen to it until you get bored. Trust me it won’t happen!
In fact I advise you to catalog this close to your collection of hiphop classics.

Gangsta Rappers appears hardcore and “badder” compared to the early concepts and themes of hip-hop because they were saying what some people were afraid to say. Plenty of victims of police brutality wanted to say “F*ck the police” but they were afraid to say it; they were too afraid of appearing to be anti-American or anti- government order.\par
