CRYSAND formed by Chris and Andy, is an electro-pop duo started in January 2012. Their first eleven-track full length album, was entirely self-produced, recorded and mastered in Andy’s recording studio in Rome. The duo has accumulated a huge baggage of experience with hundreds of performances in Italy, all over Europe and rest of the world, with their previous projects.
Their first ever release “Ugly Fuckin’ Sexy Rockin’ “ (April 2012) has gained success on Youtube. The video-clip was directed by talented director Marta Alessio, with the help of cinematographer Max Palmieri (one of the staff collaborators for the famous Italian magazine Vogue), as well as boasting the extraordinary participation of Sophie D’Isthar (Queen of the Italian Burlesque) and the famous Slovenian-born international model Stanislava Spisiakova.
CRYSAND has also achieved successful following on their official Facebook fan page, as well as their Twitter and Reverbnation pages too. Their debut shows in United Kingdom (Wakefield, Manchester, Newcastle) were extraordinary experiences of visual effects and massive sounds as the other live in Germany and Greece during 2012. They also had great response as the opening act for the famous American Dj Antoine Becks.
CRYSAND, which proposes itself as a “Made in Italy” (even if they are based in London) answer, to international electro-monsters like Prodigy, the Chemical Brothers, Black Lab and Daft Punk has just finished the recording of their upcoming second album entitled “Supernova”, which will be released in late 2013 along with new video clips.

The duo has recently released its latest single entitled “The Experiment”. Starting off strong with a banging back-beat that could make anything sound cool, this is a brilliant single and an excellent way to sell the upcoming album. “The Experiment” comes out swinging…big, loud, obnoxious and addictive. Lots of different influences make their way into this single, and the CRYSAND sound in general, including traces of Rammstein, Daft Punk, Prodigy, Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode. But the duo has a sound that is hard to pin down exactly, as there is also a certain alternative rock and an 80’s retro sound coming through at times.
CRYSAND are capable of taking a simple two-word phrase like “Don’t Think” and turn it into an infectious tribal chant that will have you singing along after only the second listen; thanks to the incredibly catchy vocal hook line. “The Experiment” may be made with the aid of mainboards, synths and sequencers, but this electro sound will rock your speakers harder than anything you’ll find in the heavy metal genre. The arrangement also has some incredible breakdowns and build-ups between verses and choruses, which add significant dramatics and dynamism to the song.
Chris and Andy have been crafting exciting, adrenaline-injected music since their inception and the release of their debut album. The CRYSAND sound is a dense collage of all the musical elements you probably enjoy from other genres; all fused together masterfully. The new single, “The Experiment”, is no exception. Nobody does what CRYSAND do, better. Few come even close!
