Hailing from Orlando, FL, Dear Tatiana is a driven, passionate and charismatic hip-hop group with a unique approach to their blend of rap groove and pop-punk attitude. The sound is all about tight beats, uplifting melodies and a dynamic lyrical flow, not unlike inspirational artists such as Jake Miller, Childish Gambino and Air Dubai or All Time Low, just to name a few.
The EP, “Most Likely To Succeed” is a producer’s dream, creating a superb work of lyrical and musical composition that it is difficult to stop grooving to or hearing the melodies in your head. The ability to incorporate so many genres in a complete package is what the term, ‘BEST’ encompasses and this product has all those attributes.
Hip-hop, over classic electro-fused dance beats, dosed with some popular sample extracts, makes this an appetizing listen. Dear Tatiana has put out a selection of 5 hypnotic dance grooves and 1 slow-burning soul-stirrer in the title track. This EP should be played in its entirety in a club some place. Each track, while distinct, carries the listener to the next song with ease.
Though this is very groove oriented, and you may need to get your boogie shoes ready to hit the dance floor, don’t forget this is still a hip-hop EP at the core. Thayne Brown, Michael Fallas, Michael Gonzalez and Hunter Burdette, thoroughly tread the Kanye West and Childish Gambino path – which means an album full of sweeping lyrical flows and progressive, dynamic music that pushes the hip-hop envelope.
It is instantly addictive, impeccably produced, and with some of the cheekiest lyrics and rhymes you’ll hear all year. As the EP progresses you get a taste of various rap styles, indie and dance influences. Dear Tatiana takes musical styles to a whole new level, embraces them, and puts their emphasis on it. Standouts for me, include, The Intro, The Morning After and Most Likely To Succeed.
Revolutionary, fluidity, consistency, conception and direction, are just a few of the exceptional qualities that “Most Likely To Succeed” has. Whether you’re discussing flow, composition, lyricism or even originality, this is simply a good EP.
Moreover, what makes this EP ultimately appealing is the attention to detail and the approach in making seriously catchy music. I am always interested when artists create good work and don’t rely on the status quo of any genre. Dear Tatiana brings diversity to this effort. There are all kinds of things happening in the background from different genres and styles blended together masterfully.
With well sung hooks, excellent wordplay and innovative productions, “Most Likely To Succeed” will hit a variety of notes within your emotional spectrum!
