Bliss Bomb is a smoldering female-fronted ten‐piece band playing a dynamic blend of pop, funk and jazz with a sexy sophisticated vibe that harkens back to old Hollywood glamour and smoky film noir. Fun, smart, and sophisticated with a hook, Bliss Bomb creates new music with a vintage twist.
Released on October 24th, 2013, Fever Dream takes the listener on a jazz‐pop safari through outer space, the jungle and beyond. Influences from the present and the past come together as Fever Dream transports the listener on a retro‐inspired journey with tunes like “Interplanetary Groove”, “Run Away”, and “Double Agent Man”. Modern yet jazzy like Adele and Bruno Mars, Fever Dream features sultry vocals, lush harmonies, resonating beats, and a variety of instruments including flute, sax, banjo, trumpet and udu drum.
Bliss Bomb is lead singer and songwriter Lisa Marinacci, drummer Jim Hardiman, guitarist Matt Piper, bassist Chris Hale, keyboardist Gerald Thompson, back-up singers Gina D’Acciaro and Sharyn Kehaulani Gabriel, saxophonist/flutist Dan Heffernan, George Pandis on trumpet and percussionist Gary Grantham.
Bliss Bomb has released three music videos over the past two years for their singles “Double Agent Man”, “Trouble”, and “Blowin’ Smoke“, all available to watch on their YouTube channel: blissbombband
This album is sublime. It is music at its finest. It’s right up there with the time when music was at its best – the ’70s. It’s uncommon today for an album release to have more than two or three good songs and very rarely do they have a great song. This Bliss Bomb album, “ Fever Dream ” has all good songs and multiple great songs!

Musicianship on this album is top notch. The rhythm section is awesome; while the brass section is thoroughly “horny,” and tight. There are no words that I can find to express how this band and the singers are so incredible and that this is what is missing from the radio stations today. Bliss Bomb has filled this album with as much funk, soul, fusion & jazz that could ever be imagined on one recording. Every time I hear them it’s like being in a time warp. I don’t believe there is anyone else out there rocking, jazzing and funking it up, like this right now!
My personal favorites on Fever Dream are “Interplanetary Groove”, “Double Agent Man”, “Trouble”, “Hunting You”, “Urban Grind” and “Keep On Keepin’ On”. All the vocals, horns and rhythm arrangements are straight out of the best retro sounds I can remember. I’m so incredibly grateful to these musicians for putting out music of this caliber, when everyone else is caught up in the electronic and computer driven mess that’s dominating mainstream music these days.
Most people who are looking to make funk, jazz or fusion, music tend to do so through the filter of hip-hop today. Whether it be via samples of old songs or a guest rapper/producer it seems that funk, jazz and fusion is supposed to be somehow indebted to a genre that has become a somewhat uneven and often lyrically juvenile mainstream style of music. But I am not criticizing hip-hop. A lot of good has come out of it too.
However to hear unified funk, jazz and fusion bands such as Bliss Bomb, you would have to search high and low in the jazz sections of your record stores to find it. This is one group that knows how to kick butt! They have a rare combination of great instrumentalists and vocalists. If you want to groove, kick back , or just plain chill out. This is the group that can do it for you! Grab this while you can.
