Arika is influenced by artists such as Aaliyah, Janet & Michael Jackson, Dru Hill, Aerosmith, Jodeci, Survivor, Shania Twain, Mariah Carey & Tamia. Kane also has a grand appreciation for legends such as Fred Astaire, Judy Garland, Etta James & Quincy Jones.

Arika Kane’s new album “SUBSTANCE” has just been released and is available on iTunes. We gave it a close listen.
This 14-track Pop/R&B offering which includes a Club extended mix of ‘Let Go’ and a hiphop mix of ‘Fight For Your Life’, straddles the stylistic divide between the modern, club-oriented R&B of contemporaries like Ne-Yo, Jessie Malay, Tamia and the more classic soul of Alicia Keys.

There is an abundance of good tunes on here, with a solid but never overpowering musical production that compliments Arika Kane’s vocal style perfectly.
