With a Pop style that’s clearly infused with definite elements of R&B, hip hop, rock and reggae, Jamera will definitely bring some variety to the world of music. She describes it as Indie-Pop. As is evident in her sound, Jamera’s love of music isn’t glued down to a specific genre, whether commercial or underground. Anything with a hot beat, a fluid flow, and surprising vocal patterns get her attention. “ I love what Gwen Stefani has been doing from the beginning, I grew up with her and Lauryn Hill, who are two female lyrical GENIUSES. I try to honor that tradition in my music.”
Jamera spent her Middle school years engulfed in hip hop listening to Aaliyah, SWV, OutKast, Tupac, later on the Neptunes, Timbaland. At school she hung out with battle rappers and break dancers. And although she could hold her own as a rapper, her heart was in singing.
The influence of her family is where Jamera quotes to have gotten her love for the classics: jazz, soul, classical, and gospel. “My mom was an opera singer who loved Sade, Betty Wright, etc, my father sang, he was feelin’ Al Jarreau and Earth Wind and Fire, and Stevie… so all the beautiful melodies and old school soul and neo-soul always gives me a nurturing, comfortable, feeling. I admire their passion and I try to tap into it with every song I sing.”

Now combine all that with her adult studies of- reggaton, reggae, soca, samba, chutney, rock- and you get.. Jamera! This fun, hot, wicked, rhythm flow, with this pretty, sassy, sexy, strong vocal style. And to put icing on the cake, she adds clever lyrics so even those of us who like word play are involved.
Jamera’s sweet melodies and spunky rhythms have captured audiences from Cali to Canada. Her voice has held down the mic in New York’s famous SOB’s, Pianos and Atlanta’s Fox Theater and Atlantic Station Central Park. Jamera has opened the mike for Def Jam’s Tierra Marie in NYC, DJ Drama and the Affiliates at club Zucca, club Miami and also played along side Dj Jelly in Atlanta.
This Brooklyn bombshell currently resides in Atlanta and has collaborated with producers such as Substantial of UV Ink entertainment, Senate Music Group (Rasheeda & Gucci Man), and PBJ Productions.
