Ata Erol was born in Sakarya, Turkey. Surrounded by a supportive family, he started playing piano at a young age. His first performance was “Yıldızlar Altında” by Kargo which he performed on piano in school demonstration. Later Ata was inspired to play the guitar, going on to take lessons with the support of his mother.
Ata then took a break from music and when he returned, it was without the instruments. In 2014 he had become a DJ. His first tracks on Soundcheck collected over 10,000 listeners, which wasn’t bad for a freshman. Not satisfied, Ata pushed on to release a new mix, entitled “Paris Night”, which went on to be captivate over 5,000 listeners in one hour. Still not satisfied, Ata released another new mix entitled “Clone”, which went on to hit the 100,000 listener mark – exactly what he was targeting!
After selling 100,000 downloads on iTunes, Ata decided to create his own radio station – Radio APDC – where he started broadcasting with his best friend Emre Tankut Karakurt. Ata also created an iPhone app to reach more listeners, which is published on App Store. Currently he is on air every Friday on Radio APDC and he has also resumed his music career with the release of “Blended” (Original Mix).
On this track Ata Erol strikes a great balance between just plain fun dance music and a fresh sound to serve our dance floors. EDM’s “4 on the floor” house music streak has gotten stale, but Ata’s music innovates and plays around with the formula. The mixing, sampling, and imaging are amazingly well done. Ata Erol is a stellar producer, and a wonderful artist. And you’ll be blown away when you see the age he is!
“Blended” (Original Mix) is a very uplifting track, from start to finish there is positive energy oozing forth. The importance of drums are huge when it comes to electronic music, however, I think there comes a point where they can be overdone a bit. Anyone can write music in a DAW, slap a deep sidechain on it, and have a decent sound. However, making the composition leave room for the beats without having to duck critical aspects of the music, take a whole lot more talent; something which Ata Erol has.
Ata puts together good music with solid basslines and obviously has great talent at portraying emotion through his compositions. You will be in for a treat if you love unique electronic blends of sound that makes the more modernized electronic artists seem lesser in comparison. It doesn’t matter what mood or attitude you’re in, “Blended” (Original Mix) will make you feel better. I have listened to it countless times and I still haven’t got tired of hearing it!
