Mr. Quiji, born Marques Parks, is originally from the now infamous west side of Atlanta, Georgia. The Simpson Road native began dominating local area talent shows and quickly worked his way up the ladder of the highly competitive, underground Atlanta rap scene. In gaining recognition and notoriety, Quiji was sought after by several up and coming groups thus allowing him to further expand his reach throughout the southeast, ranging from Carolina to Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee and so on.
Through hard work and dedication, coupled with a steadily increasing popularity and rising demand for his brand of music, Quiji began headlining shows all around Atlanta. Having won a variety of awards, as well as every showcase he has either entered or been invited to, Mr. Quiji is a natural born live performer. He has continued to network and collaborate with other artists, in addition to developing his solo projects.
The highly anticipated video, for the single “Memories,” from his upcoming release The Talented Mr. Quiji has recently been published on Youtube. On this single, Mr. Quiji attempts to forge a definitive sound out of his craft. He displays his unique style, that consists of a distinct, relaxed voice and a to-the-point machine-gun delivery, with some solid punchlines and a totally self-sung chorus inserted here and there.

Mr. Quiji’s bars aren’t made up of fake, crowd-catching one-liners, but rather employ effective, believable lyrics which make this track so enjoyable to listen to. “Memories” is a very personal song, which talks about his wife, his late grandmother and his mother, with the verses strictly following in that order.
In fact, Mr. Quiji successfully forges his unique sound, with music that will get spun in the clubs and on the streets. He’s making tracks that will have a widespread appeal, reaching beyond the southeast borders. Mr.Quiji is not a manufactured wordsmith, and doesn’t ever give the impression, that he has any intention of becoming the latest plastic poet, using rhetorical rhymes and phrases to effect. I’m pretty sure his aim is not to re-invent hip-hop, as ostentated by the new wave of impatient, upcoming rap contenders, but rather Mr.Quiji is trying to revive Hiphop. To put the truth back into its message.
Mr.Quiji tells the tales of his life experiences and the circumstances that surround him from day to day. He uses words of substance, with his strong-points certainly being his very original style, his captivating personality and the ability to craft enjoyable and moreover, believable sounding tracks.
Basically, Mr.Quiji is real. His game is just getting on the rise and the upcoming album, “The Talented Mr. Quiji,” should be hitting the stores real soon. We’re not sure what it will be comparable to, but with his relaxed, cool style and clear-cut outlook on the rap game, it will almost surely be easy to listen to.
I highly recommend Mr.Quiji to anyone who prefers a truly enterprising style of rap, filled with messages of honesty and integrity. Get over and checkout the videos, while awaiting the brand new album release.
