TaRell TymeS grew up in Prince George’s County Maryland with his mother Tracey and sister China. His passion for music began in 7th grade when his mom would play the cd “No Way Out” by Puff Daddy and the Family. From then, TaRell TymeS, (Terrell Lamarr Gilreath, Jr.) would sit in his room with a black and white journal, and a pencil writing lyrics. His first song and video was “Long Live the Music”, which he wrote at the age of 16.
During July(Release Date Set for July 15th), TaRell TymeS will release his highly anticipated debut single Slow It Down (Sosa Music Group), featuring singer-songwriter Alissa Feudo. The single was produced by Travis “Lowz” Williams.
This single’s main ingredient is listening pleasure from start to finish. It is beautifully orchestrated, replete with soulful, jazz inflections and an infectious vocal hook by Feudo. TaRell TymeS truly hones his writing and rapping abilities on this track too. TaRell is lyrically amazing and flows smoothly over Travis “Lowz” Williams’ bumping music.
If you loved the smooth hip-hop from back in the day, and know what true hip-hop is all about, you will be hard pressed not to enjoy this track. There are very few things as wonderful as chilling on a sunny day with your homeys, a cold drink, a fine honey dip and some sick tracks on the turntable. Yeah, Slow It Down, is one of those tracks!
This is why Hip Hop still matters to most. TaRell TymeS has such a smooth yet dynamic flow and puts plenty of thought into his lyrics. He’s an emcee that’s entertaining to listen to, since he keeps you interested, while Williams lays down the perfect beat to bring out the flavor, which is totally enhanced by Feudo’s vocals.
The track tends to stand out with its soulful and relaxed attitude and remains very memorable. Don’t sleep on it. This is another fine example of how hip-hop should be done. ), TaRell TymeS’ debut single Slow It Down featuring Alissa Feudo is highly recommended!
