Mario Benjamin’s musical career began in 1993 with a tribute song to his idol Gerry Boulet , entitled “Salut Gerry”. He then launched into (duo Marci) their first video clip which was aired on MusiquePlus. Two years later he was back with his debut album “Un autre ticket” ( Another Ticket) under the production of Gilbert Morin. That same year of 1995 Mario also made his first TV appearance on “Le téléthon Enfant soleil”.
Until 2001 Mario’s popularity grew as he had rave reviews saying that “he was a true rock n’ roller” and that his songs “told the stories of true life”. He then went into a 10 year hiatus, returning to the forefront in 2011 with a video – “Une vrai bombe” – which he produced and directed himself.
Until now Mario Benjamin has continued to churn out real heartfelt songs that touch listeners worldwide, notwithstanding the fact that Mario sings in French. The latest song that plays testimony to Mario’s impact on listeners is the release of “VICTOIRE”.
“VICTOIRE” (Victory) is a song and music video that tells the incredible story of two women who fight against their 3rd and 4th cancer afflictions. It tells two heartbreaking stories and at the same time shows that we can successfully fight a disease that kills thousands of people every day. “Victory will increase the desire to fight and never give up.”
Mario Benjamin delivers his songs beautifully. Each song carries fantastic meaning accompanied with beautiful melodies and perfect vocals. On “VICTOIRE” he replicates that formula with ease and grace, affronting a serious theme like Cancer.
Mario Benjamin’s songs unfold like vivid stories as he is fierce, confrontational and straight from the gut in his performances. You don’t have to know too much French too feel Mario’s music!
