I knew songwriter Lyndon Rivers was talented, but on “Waiting For You” Ft. Jamie Newton, it shines through even more. Lyndon’s talent was apparent from day one and proven time and time again since, this latest track is just another step along the long journey he is taking. And it is a step with a major right turn, as Lyndon moves away from his recent more dance orientated electro compositions. This track is the kind that you feel obliged to listen to over and over again because the song is great, you’ll be waking up with it playing in your head and be smiling.
It is an exquisitely unique melody with Jamie Newton’s blissful and amazing voice touching the soul. The lyricism and musicality that Lyndon Rivers has put together for “Waiting For You” Ft. Jamie Newton, is remarkable. More than anything else, Lyndon seems to be a poet in the vein of Jim Morrison; heartfelt lyrics, wrapped around a mirage of images, sometimes dark, always laced in intrigue and often ending in heartache or else celebrating love.
In any event Lyndon’s arrangement together with Jamie Newton’s voice has just the right mix of angst and sexiness to make that perfect audio cocktail. I particularly enjoy Newton’s voice because he has an amazing cool tone and edge to his singing – again bringing to mind Jim Morrison. Lyndon Rivers somehow manages to excel in all of his songs no matter what style he chooses for them. And even here in his melodic pop clothing, he is authentic in every aspect. Nice mixing, great sweeping vocals, and crisp guitar picking.
Lyndon Rivers is very consistent when it comes to his music; you just can’t go wrong. Anytime you put “Waiting For You” Ft. Jamie Newton in your player you immediately feel like you’ve been transported to a smoky coffee house and it’s just you, Lyndon Rivers and Jamie Newton sitting there as they play the song to you. When they hurt, you hurt, when they’re sad, you’re sad, when they love, you love. Lyndon’s song pulls you in and makes you think about relationships and everything that encompasses it.
