Denise Renee Caplock: “What Yo Momma Say” – rolls out a foot stomping beat smothered in a delicious groove!

Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, Denise Renee Caplock is a Recording Artist, Songwriter, Producer and Publisher, as well as being the President and CEO of Collinscrest Entertainment Group. Denise grew up singing in church, surrounded by passionate musicians, most notably her mother, who was a gospel singer signed to the Scepter record label in the 1960’s.

Denise-Renee-Caplock-Momma-coverA BMI affiliated publisher since 1989, she went on to establish 13th Highest Music, as well as Collinscrest Entertainment Group. However Denise’s journey back to being an artist was initially inspired by the passing of her mother, whose dying wish was that she would return to singing, a promise she has kept even though touched by the subsequent tragedy of losing her sister a year later.

Her latest single “What Yo Momma Say”, Produced, Written, Arranged and Performed by Denise Renee Smith AKA Denise Renee Caplock for 13th Highest Music BMI is available now. Denise’s funky but energetic dance style resonates in this track as she explores her ability to turn a song into an experience; making this a great introduction to her work.

“What Yo Momma Say” substantiates Denise’s place in the music business as she rolls out a foot stomping beat smothered in a delicious groove and adrenaline-pumping vocals. The song is basically a fun parody about teenagers sneaking out to the club when they’re supposed to be at home…and more precisely in bed!

Denise-Renee-Caplock-Momma-logoDenise Renee Caplock presents herself here, as someone with a great deal of fun appeal but someone you could have an extremely deep conversation with as well. And her approach is very honest; in terms of her singing, and the single’s instrumentation, Denise sticks to her guns, nothing too complex, but rather something clever and catchy for all ages to swing their booties too!

The best thing about this single is that not only does it refuse to settle for the repetitive, electronic and generic hip-hip/R&B styles that are almost unavoidable but actually finds a way to modernize the original 70s-80s disco-funk sound without destroying its own flavors. If you’ve ever sneaked out to the club without your Momma’s consent, you’ll know exactly what Denise Renee Caplock is singing about on “What Yo Momma Say”!

More About Denise Renee Caplock: After Status 7, the group she was in, disbanded, Denise went on to work with several renowned producers such as Kenton Nix, Freddy Bastone, Jared Hoffman and Chester Simmons, among others. She later landed an internship at the former 98.7 KISS FM working with Kool DJ Red Alert and Jeff Foxx, under the direction of legendary radio programmer Tony Gray. Finding a niche in record promotion, she capitalized on this by working for several record labels including Big Beat Records and Bahia/RCA.

Denise is particularly proud of her family’s place in American history, as she is the Great Great Granddaughter of legendary philanthropist and business tycoon Colonel Samuel Tate: founder of the historic Tate house in Tate, Georgia, he was also the President of the Georgia Marble Company, which famously supplied the materials that literally built the White House.
