Big AL and Young THC release “Mean To Do It” from the upcoming “The Red Cup EP”

New Jersey based artists Big AL and Young THC have joined forces to present The Red Cup EP, their debut project as a duo. Hailing from Newark Nj, Al-Terrick Cromwell aka Big AL – born on January 19, 1991is charismatic, spontaneous and direct Hip Hop artist who set out to make music with an honest and eclectic approach. Tyrell Cromwell, born on December 24th, 1992 – and hailing from Newark Nj – is a young hip hop artist who stands out from the crowd with his sick flow and delivery.

red-cup-300This five track, The Red Cup EP, features the lead single “Mean To Do It.” Big AL and Young THC stand out from the hip hop crowd. I love the little things they do with their voices, like the way they drag it, lift it or drop it low – either technically or with some studio gadgetry – it’s creative and it also separates them from many other lame rappers, because remember everyone wants to rap nowadays.

Most rappers out there hide behind beats and hype marketing. Make no mistake Big AL and Young THC have the beats too, but they still rely on words, rhymes and stories, which has been the real backbone of the genre since the legendary 90s. The greater majority of upcoming rappers today need to be reminded of this fact, as they’re exclusively interested in whose singing the hooks and doing the features.

Though their music can be described as party or club music and they’re not shy to deliver anthems with catchy hooks, Big AL and Young THC still know how to rap as their wordplay and rhyme structure separates them from many of the rappers in the business. This much is evident even on a slow-burning crawler like “Mean To Do It” which has an almost laidback beat and energizing rap flow.

Just how much Big AL and Young THC are able to stir up the game will depend on the rest of the tracks on The Red Cup EP, which is ready for an imminent release.
