Born in Queens, raised in the Philippines, and eventually moved to Northern California, Joseph Gerard Crisol aka jCrizzy is an Urban music artist with talents in rapping, singing, and production. jCrizzy prides himself in being able to create quality records from beats and lyrics, to the final stages of mixing and mastering. Something he proved on the release of his album “The Life”, positively received by critics and fans alike, and of which you can find our rave review here.
From this same album, jCrizzy has dropped the official video for the track “Supernova ft. Somong”. If I had to sum up the performance in one word, I would say its – growth. If there’s one thing that jCrizzy has shown us since he came into the rap game, it’s that he is consistent. He has a formula: Rap honestly, sing smoothly, produce solidly…and bam, you’ve got jCrizzy’s successful sound in less than one sentence. But jCrizzy does not only focus on perfecting his formula, song after song, rather on expanding it, showing us that he is getting even better each time.
On “Supernova ft. Somong”, jCrizzy adds confidence and charisma to his artistic baggage, while the entire project has been carefully crafted and performed by all concerned, and then thoroughly delivered by the Big Shot Music Group.
jCrizzy and his songs are all about his life, who he is, what he experiences, and he allows the listener to take a glimpse into his world. It’s a refreshing break from those rap artists who are constantly spitting lines about drug dealing or threatening to kill other dudes. I’ve said this before, but I will repeat myself here – jCrizzy is a genre of his own. There are not many other up and coming young artists who can be compared to him – which is one thing I appreciate about his artistry. He gives us music that is completely relatable and so cool to groove or chillout to!
