The Blue Elephant’s 4 albums as well as seemingly constant music output and performance show a determination to earn his rightful place among Canada’s emerging electronic dance music artists. The Blue Elephant is a visionary Producer and DJ fusing melodic chord progressions with air-cutting leads, thumping bass and beats with an attitude
His love affair with music started at a young age and continued throughout his teens. Playing in different bands during his high school days, one of them, a jazz band he started called The Blue Elephant, solidified his love for composing and performing music. The transition to electronic music production happened gradually over a number of years and really went into high gear once The Blue Elephant moved to Montreal in 2011
The Blue Elephant mixes different musical genres in his tracks, borrowing heavily from anything and everything that inspires him: classical composer and contemporary pop icons as well as cutting edge musicians in the Dance, House, Progressive, Trance, Dubstep and Hip Hop scenes.
The Blue Elephant, Ishewz and N.i.C, based in Montreal, England and Southern Africa respectively, met during a beach party in Ibiza a few years back and started collaborating from that point on to form a collective that has given birth to a slew of pumping tunes on a wide scale of genres. Their music has gained popular following internationally and earned thousands of views online.
On Dutty Wine ft. Ishewz & N.i.C. The Blue Elephant once again proves that he is no stranger to the dance music community. With dozens of great tracks, collaborations and successful remixes under his belt, it’s no wonder he has come to shape his own unique sound and style. The Blue Elephant’s definition of dance music has immediate beauty, gravity, and elaborate melody.
In Dutty Wine ft. Ishewz & N.i.C. he shows us his producing skills as well as his crossover skills, as alongside Ishewz and N.i.C., he weaves his way through this dancehall infected rhythm. From the minute you pop this into the player you realize that it is something special. Dancehall, Rap and EDM fuse into a delirium of dancing pleasure.
The reason I rate this highly is because I feel that The Blue Elephant stays true to his own stylistic format, yet found it within himself to take a chance with some pretty accessible vocal insertions, catchy driving bass with momentum and, lastly, adding just a touch of otherworldly multiculturalism into the instrumental flow.
Ultimately he weaves a stellar mix of fantastic sounds that will keep you enthralled from start to finish, which sits somewhere between Avicii and Shaggy!
Simply put, Dutty Wine ft. Ishewz & N.i.C. is yet another amazing , wonderful edgy and fun track from The Blue Elephant. If you like hip and trendy vocal dance music with an exotic rhythmic flair, then you will definitely like this track I guarantee it!
Born in Romford, Essex, Ishewz grew up around the era of underground garage and drum and bass music. After being inspired by the local rappers he was listening to weekly on Force FM from around 1999 onwards he decided to try his hand at writing his own lyrics. After writing numerous lyrics, freestyling at parties, rap battling strangers on nights out and performing on a few pirate radio stations the art of rapping had fully taken hold of Ishewz.
N.i.C is a music producer, published author, accomplished ballroom dancer, chess champion, award winning horticulturist, philanthropist and fine wine connoisseur with a deep love of music and equestrian pursuits.
N.i.C’s music tenure began in high school, where he honed his song writing skills in high school rap battles. This led him to national rap competitions held by a hip hop radio station where he took first place at the finals and later went on to host the show as well as a 2 hour urban music show every weekend.
