Shifty Eyes: “Nowhere” Ft. Mitchelle’l (Produced By C Gutta)

Shifty Eyes is an immaculate dynamic lyricist who is shaking up the hip-hop scene in Alberta, Canada. He has opened up for platinum selling artists at some of the toughest venues throughout America and has carved out a specified niche that his team is ready to expand upon. Shifty Eyes says his ultimate goal is to bring value to the hip-hop genre through positivity and inspire listeners through his poetic wordplay/storytelling.

Perfectly adapted to the technological era, he also has the ability to mix, master and market his own music. Both an abandoned and adopted child, Shifty suffered a difficult upbringing that forced him into addiction, and an almost fatal overdose. Today he is the father of 3 children who aims to be a positive role model for his family as well as provide inspiration for aspiring musicians.

From his acclaimed debut mixtape “A New Day” , released earlier this year, comes the potential smash single “Nowhere” Ft. Mitchelle’l (Produced By C Gutta). As an artful rapper, Shifty Eyes’ two biggest strengths as an artist are his prodigious songwriting abilities and the ragged emotional truths that live within that writing.

Both traits are omnipresent on here. Shifty writes great songs that feel like an exposed nerve. His flow goes from a hushed whisper at one moment before exploding into an emotional vocal the next. His verses gradually froth over into a rolling boil. The last half a bar is usually delivered with full-throated stomp as if to punctuate his verse for dramatic tension.

While other rappers feign emotional honesty, Shifty Eyes is unafraid to appear flawed, or even vulnerable in this song about seriously loving someone while you’re on your grind to create a career in the business. “Nowhere” is also stocked with a throbbing, soulful and melodic chorus.

Shifty stays on top the track right through as he bellows, “I can see that you hate it every time that I’m leaving, but baby I’m sorry life ain’t easy.” With probably the best line being: “While I’m out on the road, remember you’re my drive.”

When Shifty’s rapping, his message becomes clearer and clearer as he gets deeper into his verses. All-round his music runs off emotion, and this is never more evident when he brings his female acquaintances into the fold, as he does on this track.

Shifty Eyes’ music has the shiny gloss of mainstream rap peppered with some of the roughness of trap rap. The rough elements keep things from getting too jiggy, and the gloss ensures that his music rises above the deluge of mediocre street rap.

Right now he is getting bigger and even better, the originality and genuine feel of his music are really the things that will make people believers in his music. Shifty Eyes is aiming for something bigger than hip-hop with his music, and he will capture your attention.
