Midnight Mosaic: “Outside The Lines” – it’s catchy, it rocks, and it has a tremendous groove under the hood!

Midnight Mosaic refers to their unique crossover sound as Rock ‘n Soul. Influenced, by bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Maroon 5 and the Foo Fighters, they combine soul, funk, dance, and pop signatures. The band is currently made up of A.t. Hunte (vocals), Jon Skylark (Bass), Ant (Guitar), AJ (Drums), Harrisyn Hartt (Keyboards/Synth) and Dee M (Backing Vocals).

One thing that cannot be said of Midnight Mosaic is that they did not go out of their way to engage the best possible creative personnel to secure a quality production of their record. The brand new single, “Outside The Lines”, boasts credits such as Grammy Award-winning producer David Ivory who has worked with notable acts like Halestorm, The Roots, Erykah Badu and the legendary Patti LaBelle.

midnight-mosiac-400Tom Coyne who mastered the single, is another Grammy Award-winner, bagging victory for Sam Smith’s 2015 record of the year, “In The Lonely Hour” and Sam’s hit-single “Stay With Me.” Coyne also grabbed a Grammy for Adele’s “21” album. Finally, adding percussion to “Outside The Lines” is the talented Pablo Batista.

The best way to describe Midnight Mosaic is to simply call them “musicians”, because that is what they are; they are technically competent and poetic creative, every member adding significantly to each of Midnight Mosaic carefully constructed Rock ‘n Soul sound. This is one of the most penetrating and honest releases by any band in a long time, and with “Outside The Lines”, Midnight Mosaic meshes seamlessly together as it produces something that succeeds profoundly on every level.

They are definitely a rock band – only they’re not as frustrated and angry as some of their colleagues – preferring to add a dimension of soul instead of aggression, to their style. And it works big-time for them!

midnight-mosiac-350A lot of bands out there sound alike and usually when a new one comes around you can easily compare them to some other band. That’s not the case with Midnight Mosaic. A.t. Hunte is also a great vocalist and it’s so refreshing to be able to understand what a singer is saying because he is actually singing and not screaming, as has become the trend.

“Outside The Lines” does a good job of showing what this group really is capable of. This song uses a number of elements; it’s catchy, it rocks, and it has a tremendous groove under the hood, together with powerhouse vocals and tight harmonies. Everything from pace to tone is definitely on. Midnight Mosaic delivers a feeling of togetherness and perfectly arranged music. Everything fits…even “Outside The Lines!”
