The Brazilian singer “Lil Seven” started rapping in 2006, working with big names in black music in Brazil, like “Erick 12”(chosen as the best rap producer of 2000 until 2010 in Brazil). In 2009 his music “o cara certo pra voce” was played on some of the most important Brazilian radio stations. Then in 2010 he decided to move to Portugal where he worked, acting as an extra, in soap operas and TV series. In 2012 “Lil Seven” returned to Brazil and started back up with his music project.
Now as a Reggaeton musician, his music is being played on the FRONTERA FM radio in Argentina. Lil Seven draws most of his listeners from Mexico, Argentina and Russia. He was also highlighted as one of the biggest pages of Reggaeton on Facebook, and now has more than 1 million views on his links on YouTube, Palcomp3, Myspace and Vube.
If you have been following the Spanish Reggae Movement since 1987, you would know that it started in Panama with Renato, Gaby and “The Meneaito.” In the early 90’s the Puerto Rican movement started to develop and has culminated it into Reggaeton, with an explosion of new groups and tunes, both in Spanish and English. Now comes Lil Seven directly ‘do Brazil’ who is helping to take the movement to another plane, as he sings in Portuguese sprinkled with English verses too.
Lil Seven’s repertoire not only covers Reggaeton, as he handles Hiphop, Rap and even traces of R&B can be found in his works, such as on “Kiss Me Thru The Phone Remix”.

“My Dream Girl” is Lil Seven’s latest single release, to which he has also produced a video, now available for viewing on Youtube. Unlike most of Lil Seven’s tracks which will have you singing and bouncing with the opening beats, “My Dream Girl” has a mid-tempo beat with swirling string arrangements and a sentimental theme, as he talks about finding his dream girl; which is never more eloquent than in the final three lines.
“And ever since I’ve walked
I’ve never given up, having you at my side
I’ll continue roaming until finding
Your smile, to save me…”
Although many English-speaking listeners may not know what the lyrics mean, much of Lil Seven’s lyrics have a deep meaning to them, which speak to people. And for the non-Portuguese-speakers, there is the lively beat behind his music that almost hypnotizes the listener. Lil Seven’s delivers a genre of music in which you never get bored listening to the songs again and again, as along with his producers, he provides some of the best rhythms and beats around. There is something refreshing and communicative in listening to Lil Seven’s music, which almost excludes the absolute necessity to worry about the lyrics’ appropriateness. So if you don’t understand Portuguese or Spanish, just dance!
A prime example of this would be “Lil Seven Dale Reggaeton”, a song very hard to resist to. It is sizzling hot reggaeton! No matter what track you’re listening to though, you’re going want to get up and dance. It’s hard to choose a favorite song on the Lil Steven catalog, because they’re all so good, but I particularly enjoyed “Ela mi fascina”, “Lil Seven Para Vos”, “O que elas querem”, “Vuo Voltar” and “Soñando Contigo” (Feat Laura Andy)”, but the list is pretty endless as Lil Seven has a wide range of songs to choose from.
You will love all the almost all the tracks, trust me, this is the kind of music that you can vibe to even if you don’t know Portuguese (or even Spanish which is also used on some songs). When you listen to Lil Seven, you don’t have to push skip. You just let the whole thing play through because all of the songs are so vibrant!
In the meantime chill out to the smooth “My Dream Girl” to get a first taste of the exotic Latina sounds of São Paulo-born, Brazilian music artist, Lil Seven!
