Canadian musician and activist, Gaiaisi’s video, “Tell A Friend”, with imagery of wild animals caught in traps and caged in fur farms has has been gaining continual views on Youtube and spreading the word of the anti-fur campaign on a global scale.
Gaiaisi, alongside associations such as the Vancouver-based Association for the Protection of Fur Bearing Animals , PETA, and the Humane Society of the United States, is reacting by laying down the gauntlet to fur retailers and fashion houses guilty of contributing to the yearly slaughter of approximately 75 million animals in the global fur industry. In Canada alone, over 3 million animals are killed for their fur every year.
With well over 100,000 views, the video is available in two versions; for the sensitive among us there is the censored version, while for those who can handle the graphic cruelty there is an uncensored version. To further spread the word of “Tell A Friend”, Gaiaisi also provides a link to download the song for free.
The track, a melding of alternative rock and rap, takes a powerful stance lyrically. It is catchy, pounding, and jamming all at the same time. This is the sound of the beating of a caring heart, the pulsing electricity that drive our neuromuscular behavior, the indescribable waves of awareness that cascade over us with each precious verse.
Gaiaisi, together with Tatiana Lopez and Dwayne Mitchel VanSluytman somehow merge into a powerfully expressive musical force that transcends all intellectual and poetical forms from which it draws, delivering primal existential truth.
This isn’t merely music; it’s a message to change the world! Tell A Friend!
