Country Artist Madelyn Victoria can go from swagger to sentimental

“Country music hits the heart, and feeds the soul; it’s the story of all our lives in one way or another.” That’s Madelyn Victoria’s perspective on Country music and just one of many reasons why this talented young vocalist and songwriter from Deep South Texas decided to pursue a career in the Country Music industry. Her penchant for singing and performing was evident at an early age, with only a brush as a microphone, and coffee table as a stage, Madelyn would perform for her family singing along to George Strait, Alan Jackson, Selena, and more.

Madelyn Victoria has since opened up for and shared the stage with Easton Corbin, Turnpike Troubadours, Tracy Lawrence, Kevin Fowler, Clay Walker, Josh Thompson, Dustin Lynch, Zac Brown Band, The Charlie Daniels Band, and more. She has also released her 5-track self-titled EP, which contains her smash single, “He Only Loves Me On The Dance Floor”.

While most of Country’s new breed of artists continues to put out music that’s slightly country and mostly pop or dance music with little or no substance, Madelyn Victoria is going her own way by somehow keeping her country roots strong, yet infusing her music with subtle twists that will appeal to a wide audience. Madelyn is equally at home in songs like “Wild Ride” that has an almost rockabilly flavor, “Hold On” which harkens back to a lush soft-rock upbeat vocal sound, “He Only Loves Me On The Dance Floor” which brings forward a Top40 Billboard Country sound, or the classic sounds of songs like “Breaking My Heart Again” which is old school Country and “Sand in a Bottle” which has moments of pure western swing.

Every track has a vibe and sound of its own making this 5-track EP a pleasure to listen to from start to finish. The fact that the EP isn’t filled with a bunch of party anthems, brings us songs with substance about people and real relationships, making this a classic. A wide range of emotions, attitudes and sounds are explored on this record. It’s very upbeat at times and serious and somber at others.

Madelyn can go from swagger to sentimental, from song into another. She is a highly effective performer, blessed with an authenticity that is at the heart of her tremendous charisma. Unlike some of her contemporaries, Country is not a career choice for Madelyn Victoria, it’s what she does, naturally, and it shows!

I don’t consider myself a full-blown country music fan, but when I first laid my ears on Madelyn, I knew she was something special. I love the sweet twang in her voice, her songwriting, her attitude, and her allover flair. Moreover her greatness is in her ability to be modern and catchy while still being able to sound old school country. This mix of contemporary and old-school country styles is ultimately what will appeal to a wide array of audiences.
