Alex Engstrom, (Alexander Engström), born 1993 in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden is a producer and DJ. He started to play the piano when he was very young and played synth in a rock band during his time in high school. When Alex was 13 he started to produce instrumentals for rappers. Today he produces house and pop-music. His biggest success so far has been the single “Love Me Like You Do It” released on the italian label Gallery Records in 2012. The track was played a lot by radio stations in Northern Italy that summer. Alex Engstrom also won a remix contest for the famous vocalist Amba Shepherd in 2013. The remix was never released for unknown yet reasons.
Recently Alex Engstrom dropped his track, “Paraletic Nights” featuring Sofie Eng. The song is a breath of fresh air in music; great vocals with a unique blend of instrumentation. This House-inspired number is not the typical EDM track you will hear from other artists. It establishes Alex as a versatile electronic artist who is capable of branching into other musical territories.
This is one of my favorite EDM singles, so far this year. I’ll be interested to see where things go in the future. Alex has done a good job here of proving his potential as an artist and keeping his song stuck firmly in my head.
“Paraletic Nights” is different, with a wonderful high energy vibe and what sounds like a driving banjo, carefully dominating the song’s dynamics. It has a trendy crossover sound that is currently all the rave in EDM circles. Alex produces valuable entertaining music that anyone can enjoy.
Alex Engstrom writes, performs, produces, and pretty much pulls it all together. His catalog is a wild ride of musical flavors. Each of his tracks is unique – whether original or a remix. His songs have really good rhythms, colorful musical tones and great vocals.
If you are into intelligent, creative electro, Alex Engstrom simply has it. “Paraletic Nights” featuring Sofie Eng will lift your spirits and makes you want to dance!
