“Saddle On Up (Rodeo)” ft QuentinSound Juliu$ & Tha Ayleyes – get in the mood!

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, Juliu$ grew up listening to a wide variety of rap and hip hop music. Riding around with his father jamming out to artists like Westside Connections, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, and more which really sparked his interest into creating his own music. Juliu$ went on to record at Paradox Studios, realizing that he would take music more seriously. He later studied as an audio engineer at The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Juliu$ is also featured in a couple mixtapes under DJ Flipcyide, Mic Ponz, and Coast2Coast just to name a few, and has just dropped his track, “Saddle On Up (Rodeo) ft QuentinSound
Juliu$ & Tha Ayleyes”.

Juliu$ sounds different on many tracks, sometimes you don’t recognize his voice, and he seems to have no set style…which is actually pretty impressive! Each track is unique, and I’m grooving to each one of them with the same enthusiasm, be it “I’m Rollin ft Essay Potna”, “Another Round Ft Drumlord” or the latest “Saddle On Up (Rodeo)”. His skill is in his flow, riding the beat, the vocabulary, the way the words just come out, the way riding the beat makes you feel and nod your head. Half the time it doesn’t even matter what he says because you are caught up in the mood, but then you listen carefully and there some gems in the lyrics.

Juliu$ has genuine talent and I admire his ability to crossover with his hiphop style. One thing this track does not do is try to be intellectual, in strong contrast to recent predicated albums delivering sociopolitical messages. On this single Juliu$ explains to his ‘cowgirl’ lady that he can do it all in the bedroom. The voice, the lyrics, and the beats, everything about this track is on point. This is one of those songs you put in to get you in the mood or to make love to, as it moves between rap and smoothly sung R&B verses.

What “Saddle On Up (Rodeo) ft QuentinSound Juliu$ & Tha Ayleyes” does do is display Juliu$’ skill as a rapper. His delivery is loud, smooth and clear; here he is able to spell out his words on a slow languid rhythm and flow, which is sometimes much more difficult than fast, machine-gun spitting. It also serves as a great showcase piece for the independent rap and R&B movement.

Overall Juliu$ has shown that he’s getting stronger with each release. He also shows that his style is different in a good way, and he separates himself from current day rappers by crossing musical boundaries with each new song too. The sound is a combination of genres from the past and the future…
