From Sir to Count: Psychological Antidotes and Soul Prescriptions is a 14 track album that chronicles the 20th anniversary of (Guinness World Record holder in music), Mikhail Tank’s Darksoul Theatre ™. The physical edition, signed by Mikhail, is available on a Gold Archival disc. The album contains lyrics and music by Mihkail Tank with additional guest music by Ariel Dickerson.
This album is amazing, and is definitely among some of the most moving music you’ve yet to hear. Strength of mood is applied in so many ways on this album, sometimes subtly, sometimes intensely dramatic. Combinations of rock drums and rhythms with rich orchestral arrangements ensure that the album’s blueprint of quiet quiet, loud loud, quiet never gets boring. Mainly because it’s so epic and enthralling, while Mikhail Tank whispers, wails and roars his voice characterizations across the musical compositions with magnificent gushes of grandeur and doses pathos.
‘Psychological Antidotes and Soul Prescriptions ‘ is a tour de force of Tank’s unbelievable ability to create beautiful yet shatteringly powerful soundscapes. The wall of sound, the voices, and the powerful moments are sure to get your adrenaline pumping, while the softer periods are just as touching. Mikhail Tank’s interpretations will hit you hard if you let it.

The mood changes are simply perfect; the arrangements weave in and out of themes, from beautiful and calming melodies to sinister driving sections. “Bubble Of Hate” is my favorite track, it takes a while to get going with numerous voice and introductory effects, until it enters its main motif, played sinisterly by the organ and percussion, gradually building to a full onslaught of Tank’s voices that defines crescendo. “Moon” and “Psychological Antidotes” demonstrate more touching pieces, that showcase the fabulous and inventive talking voice of Mikhail Tank, the sound themes are quite similar to works by Meatloaf and Jim Steinman. It soars, wails, and is completely ethereal.
On this album Mikhail Tank simply destroys the boundaries of the spoken word. Every piece and every individual movement inside it is utterly compelling. Whether tender or brutal, Tank leaves no emotional stone unturned. The album is of course the accompanying soundtrack to Tank’s first feature film of the same title, which will PREMIERE ON JUNE 15th. Tickets go on sale May 1st via this Link and mikhailtank.com
If you’re interested in post rock, or are already a post rock fan but now need something different , maybe with a spoken voice, to add to your collection, Mikhail Tank’s “From Sir to Count: Psychological Antidotes and Soul Prescriptions”, is the album to get. I kid you not, just relax in a dark and cozy room, and listen to this album and you will go places few other bands could ever take you in a lifetime. This is fiercely emotional, gut wrenchingly powerful music.
