North Carolina rap duo 3RD DEGREE MOB comprised of childhood friends Michael “Mike Bandz” Lyles and Demarcus “Louie G” Andrews, who have developed their craft over the past 10 years and in the process, and became the cornerstone of the hip-hop movement in their hometown of Winston-Salem. The rhyme duo have been making a global impact since the release of the superb “Check” back in 2014 to the new 2015 single “My Momma” off the mixtape album “Respect the shooter”.
MIKE BANDZ & LOUIE G aka 3RD DEGREE MOB is one of the most underrated groups in rap music. They deserve far more credit and attention than they get. For those who haven’t listened to the group, I feel sorry for you. For those who have, you know how fortunate we are. The release, as a single, of “My Momma” was more than worth the wait – the lyrics are superior. The delivery is untouchable. The beat is banging, and the vocal hook is just straight fire. It pretty much has all the requisites of a mainstream hit single.
The production is crisp and clean, but with just enough grit to sink your teeth into. This is truly going to please many folks as MIKE BANDZ & LOUIE G spit playalistic rhymes backed by an incredible beat that will have you nodding your head. Each member of this duo spit unprecedented flossin verses, yet different from typical flosser bars, as they tell a drug dealing story and its consequences on family life, centered around the role-model of a mother.
The chorus is insightful and tight, delivering a riding, easy listening, superior flow from the duo, together with true-to-life potent lyrics. Pimp C flexes his production talents by handling most of the beats. A rap song hardly gets any better or catchier than this.
Overall, MIKE BANDZ & LOUIE G is definitely one of the realest duos out there. Some folks my feel I’m biased, but you can ask anyone who is a real and intelligent rap fan, and they will tell you the same thing.
I’ve listened to pretty much all the songs on their streaming websites, and these dudes hardly ever make a bad song, if any. Their lyrical content is all there, as they talk about relevant things. With the release of “My Momma”, finally more people will start to see what a great duo these two are. MIKE BANDZ & LOUIE G aka 3RD DEGREE MOB are not the sugarcoated, powder puff rappers that you hear on the radio, but they just as damn catchy!
