From a city with one of the highest murder rates in the United States – Pine Bluff, Arkansas – OAO Kool portrays living in his environment through music. When he was 20 years old, he opened his first business and vowed to never work for anyone ever again.
He started his own local record label Scar Lyfe Entertainment and sparked a movement in his community with his hustle. By throwing shows he cut out the middleman and created business opportunities for other local artists as well as giving them a place to showcase their music.
While he is not known for having swag, the music speaks for itself with his lyrical compositions. After having kids, he lost focus on music and took a 6 year hiatus from the game. But now he’s back! Better and stronger!
The artist formerly known as Kool Carl is now known as OAO Kool, which means One And Only Kool!
