Dj Xtra-Large on his grind with “Make It Move” Ft. the Murder Squad

Legendary Producer / Dj Xtra-Large is once again on his grind with release of his new single “Make It Move” Ft. the Murder Squad. The veteran turntablist-producer has already logged in countless hours crafting smash hits for a Who’s who of West Coast Hip-Hop heavyweights; including, Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, Too $hort, Spice1, E-40, B-Legit, C-Bo, Coo Coo Cal, Bad Azz, Ray Luv, Mac Mall and even the late Mac Dre, Pimp C and Tupac Shakur, among others.

The Murder Squad is a group of MC’s from the mid-west that Dj Xtra-Large assembled. Taking a page from the Mafia Dons of the past; Xtra-Large searched from Detroit to Chicago to form a team of MC Hit Men. Murder, Lucie, and Cash/Bird AKA the “Murder Squad.”

The Murder Squad and Dj Xtra-Large approach the entirety of this new track, like a battle rap arena. From the opening moments to the concluding taunts of “Make It Move”, they bring fittingly intelligently combative verses and an unwavering energy to the track.

The four-minute run time is filled with explosive verses which all land with a solid sting and can be seen as a welcome and relentless string of verbal blows which showcase that they’re is as veracious as ever. The incredibly witty word play has been brought up several notches by the fact that the name dropping present in most of modern music is wisely eliminated here.

There is such a kinetic undercurrent to the Murder Squad that even when they recycle lines from classic hip hop songs it feels like a fresh and loving homage, a kind dedication to this musical art form’s glory days.
