We have reviewed Everest’s work on numerous occasions and are seriously running out of adjectives to describe this majestic talent.“Run To Love” is a mature and wonderful addition to his already great catalog of work.

It is simply a very beautiful record. The overall sound is nothing short of remarkable – this is perfection without being dull, and smattered with a taste of everything the artist has offered us thus far. Its glistening sheen, mixed with raw grit, supplies Anthony Everest’s arsenal of vocal chords an authentic musical coloring book on which to work..

Everest’s vocals are superb throughout. He’s an excellent soul singer, a modern day Sam Cooke, in the making. Soul and jazz has an expectation where great singers must put their own spin, their own personal stamp on a song: pop doesn’t have the same paradigm, or at least not in exactly the same way. So it’s amazing to hear a great voice perform emotionally accurate, heartfelt, inspired renditions of great original material. And that is exactly what Anthony Everest achieves on this album.

“Run To Love” succeeds, in that Everest is re-exploring the sonic formulas and rhythms from a glorious genre of music, which is so deeply impactful. There are the organic, multi-layered harmonies, the jazzy key changes, and the attempt to bring an emotional coherence to the work as a whole. Everest never strays into formulaic repetitiveness in any of the songs, while providing romantic and heart-oriented intent for this Ep.

From “Your Love”, “You Call Me Baby” and “Kiss Me Me Baby” to “Hypocrite”, each song is well-crafted, with a unique musical personality and bare, but highly effective instrumentation.

The propulsive piano accompaniment creates a feeling of hopefulness and power, while the chord progressions build to unbelievable emotional climaxes. Everest’s lyrics are thought-provoking as always and his expressive voice leaves the listener wanting more.

Once again, Anthony Everest proves why he should be much closer to the mainstream musical radar than he actually is. The music he creates puts most of the releases from the “latest and greatest” pop stars to shame!
