Tubby Myers: “Resolve” is injected with a plethora of feel good factors!

Tubby Myers is an independent Producer, Songwriter, and Musician living near Seattle Washington. After playing bass in various styles with numerous bands, and more than a decade away from music, Tubby decided to work on his own projects; writing and producing songs of various styles and finding the right musicians to collaborate with.

Tubby released his first singles – “Forget You”, featuring Ike Catrett in Jan 2015, and “Sunshine”, featuring Fysah in March 2015. He then released the instrumental – “Love One Another” (featuring bay area sensation, Andrew Ferren on Sax and Flute) during April 2015, and followed up in September 2015, by releasing another collaboration effort with Andrew Ferren, entitled “Resolve”.

The music writing and arrangement on “Resolve” is absolute quality from start to finish. Tubby Myers is an underrated artist of an overrated standard, he never fails to bring you the blissful sound of soul and jazz with a pop flavored influence. Unlike “Forget You” and “Sunshine”, “Resolve” is an instrumental track riding on a crisp acid-jazz backbone, and beautifully dominated by the sublime brass supplied by Andrew Ferren.

Ferren (Tenor sax, Flute, Rhodes, Composer) and Myers (Bass, Guitar, vocals, Composer) make up a formidable partnership that I sincerely hope blossoms into a full-length album. From the moment you listen to the first bar to the very end, “Resolve” just breathes pure brilliance on the part of the Ferren and Myers team. The track is injected with a plethora of feel good factors, not least the sax and flute phrasing, which is built upon Myers’ insistent rhythmic groove.

In fact, it’s a master class in sophisticated groove-based music. All the classic elements are there on “Resolve”: infectious grooves, razor-sharp horns and strong melodicism. This track is an absolute pleasure to listen to. Tubby Myers seems to have mastered the elusive art of producing consistently high standard releases, as each one of his tracks is impressive quality wise. If you are a musician it will inspire you to be better, bolder and work harder! Brilliant, love it!
