Miss Myi started out at 5 years old, choreographing dance routines in her mother’s kitchen where she quickly gained a major love for everything music related. She started formal dance training at the age of 12, and then later taught herself to read music and play 5 musical instruments. Over the years Miss Myi has worked with many companies including Walt Disney, Sony, and IMG.
Elle Gie is a true fan of her art form, also beginning at the early age of 12, she embraced her dreams and set out to fulfill them. She very quickly developed a unique perspective encompassing all aspects of becoming a performer and recording artist. Elle Gie has opened for high–profile acts such as rappers Young Jeezy and Paul Wall, R&B artists Ray J and Trey Songz, award-nominated actress, Vivica Fox, and comedian Rickey Smiley.
Together, the sassy and sexy Miss Myi and Elle Gie, have collaborated on various projects together in the past. In particular I remember last year’s single releases, “Extra” and “Disappear”. The two up-and-coming divas are united by a close friendship and a common inspiration to achieve their respective artistic goals as well as give something back to their fans and the community in general. The girls have proved to be no strangers when it comes to supporting community and youth projects.
So it’s no surprise that they have released their latest collaborative track, “No Lames Allowed”. Being totally versatile, both Miss Myi and Elle Gie have navigated through a variety of styles and genres in the past years, from straight Pop to Euro-Dance-induced rhythms.
On “No Lames Allowed”, the duo have gone back to the drawing board, and come out rapping on a trendy Hip hop track drenched in heavy bass and drums, then sprinkled with catchy pop hooks and entrancing vocal effects. And it’s obvious from the first bar that they’re back and hungry to claim a position, not only on the singing artists’ roll call, but on the female emcees list of this generation as well!
The girls never lose sight of the end goal and manage to spit some cool and intricate raps. And of course they sing their own hooks and choruses, keeping it all in the house. “No Lames Allowed” is catchy, aggressive, and un-apologetically showcases their talents.
Miss Myi and Elle Gie soar with confidence and vigor on this new track. The beat and bass is popping as their sweet voices glide over the track like leaves in the wind; proving that these femme fatales can handle tough beats on their own. “No Lames Allowed” is definitely is a smart way to open up the next chapter in their artistic careers.
