Ezae’s deep passion for rap and hip-hop began way back when using a pencil to rewind and fix cassette tapes where the norm. He was strongly influenced by legendary hip-hop icons Tupac, Nas, Biggie, JayZ, and Eminem just to mention a few. Shortly after graduating from the University of Bedford, he and his work colleague at the time (Reece Rydar) formed the Hip Hop/R&B group Margin Kings. Ezae teamed up with ace producer Omokings (CEO of Softhouse Productions) and together recorded the smash hit single “Sticks and Stones”. With this release, Ezae gives us another wildly inventive, and deeply enjoyable track, making it clear he isn’t about to lose an ounce of the witty wordplay, infectious rhymes and fast flows, he has shown up until now.

Right off the bat, “Sticks and Stones” picks up effortlessly with a gritty, head-nodding banger of a production, which packs a vicious hook and equally terrific verses showcasing Ezae’s unforced lyrical prowess wonderfully. If you listen close, he even changes his rhyme scheme to match the music. And I’m not just talking about voice inflections or using more words to rap fast to a slow beat or vice versa. And he does this all, with a nice old-school touch.

Ezae and the awesome Omokings beautifully blend sharp, witty and deep lyrics with a moving, melodic and anthemic-like beat. This track is very well put together; if you’re into the golden age of hip hop this will definitely satisfy that need. Get in your car, turn the bass and tremble all the way up, put your sun glasses on and jam to “Sticks and Stones”, you’ll get it after 2 replays!

The wordplay is there, the beat is there, and the choruses are there, what are you waiting for, grab hold of this thing now!
