ENGI: The “Down Under” Ep is burning up the Charts!

After his absolutely flawless “There is No Mercy” Ep, Gary Gullo aka ENGI comes flying back with yet  another Ep, released the 29th of December 2014, titled “Down Under” and containing 5 tracks. The Ep has been burning up the Beatport charts. You can see the last available chart performances listed below:

Hot on the heels of the critically acclaimed “There is No Mercy”, the “Down Under” Ep deals out a fair dose of its predecessor’s intelligently soulful beats. And even takes a few steps forward, with a deeper, harder-hitting production. ENGI just keeps getting stronger at his craft and the proof is here.

engi-down-300Released through AUDIOPLAY, the “Down Under” Ep presents: “The Sith Side” (Minimal), “Rain Dance” (Tech House), “Downtown” (Deep House), “Down Under” (Deep House) and “Ecuded” (Techno).

There are many artists producing electronic music, very few of these days make good music like this. There are none making it as good as ENGI. This recording is consistent with what we have come to love about the ENGI sound.

ENGI balances, having an identifiable sound, with creating music that never dissolves into sounding too repetitive. He clearly has established a high bar with a successful formula. This recording has gotten me completely hooked, with continual plays that still leave me wanting more. Particularly the single “Downtown” and the title track “Down Under” -the music is emotive and beguiling, whilst earnestly trying to be something truly original and inspirational.

His mixes are full of sounds that provide for an expanded sound stage with pin point imaging that is full of extended frequencies and wide dynamics. “The Sith Side” is another interesting track that caught my attention; it’s deep dark, sexy and funky, and if you urn the volume up high enough, the rhythm will bang your brains out.

“Rain Dance” and “Ecuded” stay consistent within the Ep’s context, showcasing chants, dynamic percussion and energetic bass lines that take themselves seriously enough to never dip below ENGI’s high standard of excellence.

The “Down Under” Ep is another one of those rare and beautiful electronic recordings. A must buy for those who enjoy ENGI’s production work.

More about ENGI recap:

Starting with a simple T-Shirt company in New York under the name Pearl District and expanding into a music mogul, Gary Gullo, or under his new moniker ENGI has been climbing the ladder and making a name for himself at an extremely fast pace. First getting his feet wet in the music industry with the production company Zero Gravity Entertainment, he was booking shows at some of the biggest clubs in New York City. Sponsoring parties alongside High Times with artists including Method ManZero Gravity was considered a success.
