Alec Henderson: “Who Needs To Wonder” – There’s a whole lot to like about the song!

Alec Henderson is a DIY songwriter and guitar player from Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He writes songs about feeling alone, searching for love, and struggling with God.  Alec has recently released his high energy, alternative rock single, “Who Needs To Wonder”. Fiercely acoustic driven, the track sparkles with a vibrant rhythm, anthemic vocals and sharp lyrics: “Don’t let your guard down, or you might see what’s on my mind”, sings Alec in the chorus.

Alec Henderson’s track, “Who Needs To Wonder, goes to great lengths to establish him as a viable solo artist, without even trying too hard. There’s a lot to like about the song, and a lot to take in, within the space of 3 minutes and forty five seconds.

Straight off the cuff, Alec sounds honest, committed, and talented, which is already a feather in his cap regardless of whether you like the song or not. It’s really hard to get musicians still dedicated to organic sounding music, especially the guitar-driven type – even more so, if it’s an acoustic guitar.

Another plus, is that Alec doesn’t fall into the modern-day music production trap of highly over-produced songs which sort of takes away from some of the raw emotion and passion within the songs. He keeps a nice balance of a crisp and clean production that’s just rough enough around the edges to maintain its biting ‘live-sound’ edge.

Introspective and philosophical in a certain sense, and highly melodic at the same time, this is a track about me, you, and everybody else, caught up in a desperate moment in our lives. The soaring vocals, naughty guitar licks, and swirling acoustic ambience thrive in this smartly populated production, focused on ‘feeling depressed and alone’.

The theme is as old as the world, yet we are continuously caught up in the never-ending battle with our demons inside. Sometimes we win, often we lose. The key is to keep fighting, I think.

“Who Needs To Wonder” is Alec Henderson on his own. No hype, no gimmicks, no pressure, as he tries to find the answers to his own personal demons by himself. All throughout there is an overarching elegance tempered by middling restraint, while Alec’s guitar strumming gives the perfect boost to the majestic arrangement.
