An eclectic artist who armed with only an acoustic guitar is capable of spinning multi-textured tunes, using the elastic brilliance of a captivating full range voice. Paisley’s vocal expression brings back dear memories of the late Shawn Phillips, whose folky tunes were driven to become unbelievable emotional masterpieces by a voice that equaled an orchestra, in terms of timbre and presence.
Paisley also excels in his songwriting. Never banal and always creative, he spins tales of reality and fantasy all mixed together in a potpourri of super souled-up folk made up of guitar and voice.
It would be interesting to see if Indy Alley Records manage to get Paisley into the studio with a full on backing band and a string quartet. We predict full-on magic!
